The university inserted in today's world, marked by neoliberal globalization has the responsibility to promote responsible consumption habits, which taking into account the satisfaction of the essential needs of the population contribute to caring for the environment and renewable natural resources. Today's world, governed behind the scenes by the big transnationals, develops exacerbated consumption based on obtaining ever greater profits. In this scenery, the university must rethink its role in terms of innovations and equity for sustainable development. The aim is to synthesize the challenge of the universities in the region in a set of questions that encourage the reflection of the readers.
