Food and housing are two essential factors for optimal human development. The various state programs that have been implemented have not had a major impact on the quality of life of high Andean families in Peru. The objective is to understand the relationship between housing and food security in the quality of life of high Andean families. The approach was based on the participatory action research method, with 26 families out of 180 participants, in six communities in the Puno region. As a result, the project implementation methodology is replicable and contributes to the reduction of food insecurity in the families. Conclusion, the quality of housing and food security are determining conditions to ensure the quality of life, offer greater comfort to ensure the availability, access, use/consumption and stability of food, being an essential strategy to combat poverty.
