Early childhood education in Cuba considers the comprehensive development of boys and girls as a product of the interaction between activity and communication, an educational process in which the biological and the social act as two dialectical opposites. The article proposes a first approach to early childhood, and the characterization of the stages that make it up -early childhood and preschool childhood-; exposes and analyzes the system of principles of this type of education; and they assume the historical cultural paradigm as support for the philosophical, biological, sociological, psychological, pedagogical, physiological, legal and rights foundations of early childhood in Cuba. In the same way, it takes a tour of the conceptualizations related to consumption, specifically audiovisual consumption, and proposes the category audiovisual consumption of early childhood.
