GONZALEZ PENA, Nilza; BARRIOS MOJENA, Massiel y RODRIGUEZ PELAEZ, Jesús Pedro. Mediation by parents and teachers of the consumption of videogames in Havana schoolchildren. Systematization of research and digital experiences. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.2 Epub 01-Ago-2023. ISSN 2308-0132.
The video game is one of the most widespread practices today. The world has been investigating the subject for several years now, of which there are some precedents in Cuba. The present study aims to systematize research on the mediation by parents and teachers of the consumption of video games in Havana schoolchildren, during the period 2017-2021. It also proposes recommendations to favor the mediation of the consumption of video games and screens carried out by Havana schoolchildren. The research had a mixed approach, with a dominant model concurrent nested design (DIAC); in the first stage, the quantitative approach predominated. The sample consisted of 7 investigations carried out from 2017 to 2021 and 5 digital projects. The results reveal that the fundamental reason for the consumption of video games by schoolchildren is entertainment and fun; It is the foreign production video games that enjoy the most popularity. It is recommended to prepare parents and teachers to exercise conscious and quality mediation, through the implementation of the study's recommendations.
