The present study aimed to assess the way in which investigative journalism was practiced in the case of Inti Sotelo and Bryan Pintado human rights violations in the traditional and alternative media in Peru. For this, a qualitative applied and longitudinal research was carried out, with a phenomenological design, data analysis and case study, having as data collection techniques the content analysis, the interview and the focus group. The need that the traditional means of communication evaluate the possibility to increase the power of the journalism of investigation in their wordings, inasmuch as at the present-day scene to count on a rigorous journalism becomes necessary foresees as from this investigation that I supervise the violations of human rights and expose revelations in order that there not be this type of cases unpunished. In like manner, it is necessary for the alternative means of communication to continue investigating the cases of violation of human rights and extend the rigour of your investigations.
