Resumen

The study realize an analysis of the origin, evolution and trajectory of Hurricane Ian that affect the province of Artemisa on September 27, 2022, in the investigation the synoptic situation was identified that favored a movement to the north cross in to western of Cuba. The behavior of the meteorological variables was analyzed: direction and wind force, precipitation and pressure in the meteorological stations of Artemisa for the duration of the hurricane effect. The results indicate that the most significant gust of wind in the province was 176 km/h reported by Bahía Honda meteorological station, the highest rain accumulated was in the automatic meteorological station of Mariel with 140.1 mm. The flooding were strong in Majana, Cajío and Guanimar beaches, reaching more than 5000m in Guanimar.
