GOMEZ DE LA MAZA SANTANA, Daisladys; HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, Dunia; ARMAS FORTEZA, Osniel  y  ROURA PEREZ, Pedro. SisPI’s effectiveness for Equivalent Effective Temperature forecast in Cuba during 2019. Rev. Cubana Met. [online]. 2023, vol.29, n.2  Epub 16-Mayo-2023. ISSN 2664-0880.

Based on several bioclimatic indexes, Temporal and spatial variations of thermal sensations in Cuba confirms the use of Equivalent Effective Temperature as a tool that allows us to know the spectrum of thermal sensations which cuban population have to endure. Recent implementation of this kind of products in numeral forecast should be assessed in order to be used in an operative way. That’s why the main objective of the present research is to assess the effectiveness of Equivalent Effective Temperature forecast of Nowcasting and Very Short Range Prediction System during 2019. In this investigation, the cell-point methodology was used to compare the observed values with the predicted values. Data was processed and the corresponding statisticians were calculated for evaluation. It was concluded that Nowcasting and Very Short Range Prediction System showed good skills to the forecasting of this bioclimatic index in Cuba during 2019. The biggest errors in the forecast were obtained at night and in winter season, mainly in stations located in mountainous areas.
