This article is a general presentation and analysis of Achilles’ revival during the two first decades of the 21st century. These new versions by Guillem Clua, Carlos Fuentes, Roberto Rivera, among others, present Achilles as a paradigm of the most radical democratic debates, of the homoerotic desire, of transsexuality, of the reaffirmation of this mythological hero’s mortality and humanity, of his ambiguity in all its forms, of the questioning to every ideological apparatus of capture, within the contemporary socio-cultural context.
