An observational, crosswise and descriptive study of children diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa and cared for at the Provincial Center of Retinitis Pigmentosa in Camagüey was under taken to determine the frequency of psychic disorders in patients with this diseases, identify the main types of such disorders and show the principal symptoms that allow the diagnosis of each of these entities. A survey was made to each patient where psychical symptoms were collected and psychopathological entities were diagnosed. It was shown that the frequency of psychic disorders in children was 77,77 % and that the main problems were special symptoms, neurotic disorders and learning disorders.
