The objectives on the curriculum of the medical career on basic, basic-clinical and clinical cycles disciplines that requires the understanding, explanation and interpretation of curves of elementary functions and solving optimization problems were identified. Interdisciplinary axes allowed coordinate the work of different disciplines and cycles, to address health problems, in correspondence with the functions of prevention, prediction, diagnosis and treatment
