ISSN 1990-8644.
The present study sought to determine the association between the level of parental knowledge about oral health and the level of oral health in children aged 6 to 36 months who attend the Children's Center for Good Living, Sacred Hearts of Jesus, during the first semester. of 2022. There were 60 children who were clinically reviewed to determine the level of oral health through the simplified oral health index. A questionnaire was applied to the parents/guardians of the infants, focused on determining the abilities of adults in terms of various aspects of oral health. The results revealed that there is no excellent level of knowledge in the adults surveyed, although there is a medium/sufficient level. Although the existence of adequate knowledge in certain characteristics was observed, there were deficiencies in basic aspects such as the use of the bottle and pacifiers, oral hygiene, and dental care. A statistically significant relationship was observed between the oral hygiene index of infants and the level of knowledge of adults. The implementation of Health Education activities is recommended, to be carried out by students of higher education in Dentistry.
