SUAREZ ALFONSO, Amarilys; CRUZ RODRIGUEZ, Ivian  y  PEREZ MACIAS, Yoendy. Information management: An essential tool for skills development in the university student community. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp. 72-79. ISSN 2218-3620.

University studies in Cuba include the systematic professional upgrade of future graduates among its educational objectives, taking as main bases the use of new information and communication technologies (ICT). However, there are gaps related to the skills that students must master in this regard. This situation demands the use of alternatives that could help providing a solution to it. This research is conducted to determine the theoretical foundations for the management of information and knowledge among university students, and to contribute to the university students´ performance as cultural identity bearers for the promotion and socialization of their professional skills in the communities. The proposal provides tools and methods designed to make the necessary analysis for information management development in the socio-cultural field, in marketing efforts, the promotion of culture, and in cultural products.

Palabras clave : Information management; professional skills.
