The article promotes a critical approach towards triviality and vulgarity phenomena in the Cuban popular music contemporary context. Although it is a rare phenomena, it still captures the attention of Cuban intellectuals today. For that, exegesis goes into the narrow universe of musical productions in the context of cultural globalization and socio-cultural relations between cultural policies, cultural industries, public, the role of art criticism and complex gears production, distribution and consumption in the audiovisual music scene in Cuba. The speech emphasizes the possibilities of music as a manager of taste and broad popular consumption and contains messages that are directly taxed to spirituality and cultural training as symbolic production as well.
