In university presses one of the main difficulties presented is related to the development of the management process. For this reason, research study focuses on the improvement of the process of editorial management at the University of Cienfuegos. For solving the above problem a strategy was developed from process management approach where the threads that are held in the editorial "South Universe" are identified: Management publications; Design services; Scanning, printing and binding; Magazines and Indexing. The mission, vision and goals of the publisher is determined, they are represented in flowcharts each thread, proposal evaluation criteria and process improvement are established. The results so far show the significant influence of the strategy for the management of the processes developed in the editorial.
