Aim:
To present a methodology to study the tendencies of the fishing sector in Cuba, so the proposal can be used as an instrument available to Cuban executives.
Methods and techniques:
The materialistic dialectic and documentary review was useful to produce information associated with the main trends in the international fishing sector.
Main results:
the presentation of a methodology to design a trending study that revealed four currently increasing tendencies that can be Implemented and developed in Cuba. The study showed possible associated technologies to every tendency, and also specified the need for alliances or collaboration, as well as what needs they can meet. Conclusions: A trending study is an important instrument to plan the future of any organization, regardless of its function, assuming that it can provide state-of-the-art elements needed to guarantee the development of an organization. The methodology proposed has five steps; it begins with the identification of tendencies acknowledged today, and continues through a rigorous process of information search and analysis, up to the suggestion of the tendencies with the highest probability of application in Cuba.
