Resumen

Introduction: Medical staff must to know and to practice the cerebral cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres. Its lack of knowledge leads to a fatal outcome for patients with cardiorespiratory arrest. Objectives: To determine the knowledge level of professionals from the National Center of Minimal Access on cerebral cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Method: A prospective and descriptive study was conducted from a sample including 68 physicians, bachelors and nursing technicians. A anonymous survey was made including 20 questions based on international standards of Resuscitation International Liaison Committee year 2005 (Guides 2005). Information was processed using the SPSS statistical package for Windows version 10.0. To fixed in advance a 5% ( p = 0,05) significance level to turning down the independence hypothesis among variables when the p value was smaller than the p = 0,05 significance level. Results: From the total of reviewed surveys 16 had very satisfactory results (more than 80 points), 12 were satisfactory (between 60 and 80 points) and 40 were unsatisfactory (less than 60 points). Conclusions: There is a insufficient level of knowledge on cerebral cardiopulmonary resuscitation in above mentioned Center. There wasn't association between the professional level of person polled and their knowledge on this subject, thus, it is necessary the staff training of that Center on cerebral cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres.
