The quality of Childcare Visit to schoolchildren by the Basic Working Group # 1 from ¨XX Aniversario¨ Community Polyclinic in Siboney health area belonging to Santiago de Cuba was assessed from October, 2008 to October, 2010, in which case structure and process were taken into account. The study universe consisted of 10 doctor's offices, 16 health workers, and 60 individual medical records of students. Competence prevailed among the analyzed variables because it was appropriate for all the assessed students. However, professional performance was inadequate in 27,7 %, so that the elaboration of intervention strategies to optimize the latter, mainly for those in charge of students´health in the community, was suggested.
