PONS PORRATA, Laura María et al. Clinical characteristics, through magnetic resonance and arthroscopy of the knee meniscus lesions. MEDISAN [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.7, pp. 934-941. ISSN 1029-3019.
A descriptive and cross sectional study of 53 patients with clinical diagnosis and by magnetic resonance of the meniscus disorder, assisted in "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from January, 2011 to December, 2012. In the series the meniscus lesions prevailed in the youngest patients, with a mean age of 43 years, similar for both sexes, as well as the trauma history (58.5%), with pain manifestations, difficult walking and increase of volume in the total of members; also, the lesions were fundamentally located in the right knee, in the external meniscus and in the posterior horns of both meniscuses. The types of lesions mostly diagnosed were the incomplete and complete tears and the degenerative changes, associated fundamentally with synovitis. Excellent diagnostic relationship existed between the magnetic resonance and arthroscopy
