Ischemic Heart Disease - "Valamity of modern life" - is nowadays the first cause of death in developed countries (80 % of deaths). A longitudinal, prospective, analytic and comparative research was conducted during September 1st, 2002 to September 30, 2004 in five doctor's offices at Celso Maragoto popular council in Pinar del Río municipality aimed at assessing life styles related to risk factors of the Ischemic Heart Disease. In the sample 148 patients were taken. A survey was applied where the main variables analyzed were: general data, characteristics of life styles, coronary risk factors and different activities related to health evaluation, finally an evaluative tool was used in order to demonstrate the presence of an unhealthy life style in these patients before and after the consumption of fruits, vegetables, green, vegetable oils, fat, animal entrails, chicken and pork skins. The percentage of ex-smokers was significant, the number of cigarettes and cigars was also analyzed, the figures of alcohol addicts decreased. A statistical method, the test of Mc Nemar with factor of connection and the calculation of the percentage ere used in this assessment.
