Working with lexical relations, within the vocabulary component, is essential to achieve efficient communicators in high school education. This article deals with its use from the lexical-semantic relations of polysemy and homonymy in the subject Spanish-Literature, from its linguistic and educational aspects and teaching tasks to favor the acquisition of new words in students so they can be able to use their mother tongue accurately in different contexts. The use of theoretical and empirical methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logical, official documents review, interviews, surveys and scientific observation allowed processing theoretical information and making contributions to school practice.
