This essay analyzes the importance of the study and interpretation of contemporary imperialism in the United States, understood as a multidimensional phenomenon and as a system of domination in which hegemony and, as part of it, ideological processes occupy a prominent place and fulfill essential functions for its preservation, reproduction and consolidation. Attention is drawn to the validity of such a study from the perspective of critical thinking and a Marxist and Leninist theoretical approach in the current social sciences that address the American reality.
