COLOMBANI, María Cecilia. The Socratic Word: epimeleia heautou and epistrophe heautou. On the Knowledge-Authority Relationship. An Anthropological-Political Reading. UH [online]. 2023, n.297 Epub 10-Jun-2023. ISSN 0253-9276.
The purpose of this paper is to reveal the Socratic figure in the light of the concepts of epimeleia heautou and epistrophe heautou, gathering, at first, Michel Foucault's indications in his return to the Greeks, in order to think the modes of subjectivation in the framework of the classical polis. In turn, in this scenario of construction of the self as an aestheticizing and political gesture, we want to review the solidarity between knowledge and power as an instituting dyad of the constitution of the ethical-political-aesthetic subject, defined in the framework of the Socratic kalokagathia. In this framework, ethics must be understood in relation to aesthetics and constitutes the sphere of definition of ethos. It involves a dimension of choice since it constitutes the choice of oneself. It is the topos where the condition of possibility of self-choice is generated.
