Regional cooperation in higher education is also tending to create and develop academic networks at present. In view of the changes having taken place for the last years, this is a new stage of development of knowledge society. This paper emphasizes the importance of higher education internationalization process, particularly university cooperation and its management. It also highlights the role played by academic networks in building cooperative relationships between knowledge development centers and achieving integration of higher education.
