The faculty to make definitions as an activity of the mind is taken as a starting point for dealing with the remaining activities. However, studies have shown that teaching fails to fully enhance this faculty. For this reason, this work presents the design and application of a set of teaching tasks intended to enhance the faculty to make definitions through teaching-learning process. It is demonstrated, by the use of theoretical, empirical and statistical methods, that the performance of these teaching tasks does enhance students' faculty to make definitions.
