HERNANDEZ DIAZ, Lizet  e  RODRIGUEZ JORGE, Mayra. Actividad antimicrobiana de plantas que crecen en Cuba. Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2001, vol.6, n.2, pp. 44-47. ISSN 1028-4796.

The main goal of the present paper was to validate the traditional use as antimicrobial of 3 plant species growing in Cuba. The antimicrobial activity was assessed in 3 fluid extracts by using the double serial dilutions method in a fluid medium and utilizing a microbial bacterium consisting of 4 Gram-positive bacteria, 8 Gram-negative bacteria, 1 yeast and 1 dermatophyte, all of them of human and clinical interest. The results obtained corroborated the traditional use of such species and their potential utilization in the production of phytodrugs.
