SAGARO DEL CAMPO, Nelsa María  e  ZAMORA MATAMOROS, Larisa. Methodological Proposal for the Contextualization of the Implicative Statistical Analysis in Medical Causality Research. RCIM [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.1, pp. 31-43.  Epub 01-Jun-2020. ISSN 1684-1859.

Research on risk factors, started in the middle of the last century, laid the foundations of the multicausal model framed in the linear approach that has predominated in the natural sciences. However, the health-disease process is complex, which leads to the need to apply renovating statistical techniques, as is the case of the implicative statistical analysis created to solve didactic problems in mathematics.

Framed in this direction, the present research aims to create a methodology for contextualizing this analysis to causal medical research.

To design the methodology we took into account the literature, the expert judgment and the regularities and contradictions demonstrated in the case-control studies previously carried out with the application of the proposed methodology.

The methodology consisted of eight stages: exploratory analysis, data transformation, main analysis, presentation of results, interpretation of results, ex-post analysis, selection of variables to include in the binary logistic regression model, and discussion of the results.

This is an evolving proposal that must be adapted at the request of clinical and biostatistician researchers, its main users, and must constitute an important pillar that complements the multivariate techniques commonly used in clinical-epidemiological studies for the identification of prognostic and risk factors.

Palavras-chave : methodology; methods; implicative statistical analysis; interpretation of results.
