The Cuban energy sector presents an accelerated growth in fossil fuel generating capacities and the acquisition of technologies based on renewable energies. This sector has been a pioneer in the application of the Cuban norm NC Guide 857 and resolution 224/2014 of the CITMA. The implementation of this regulation allows the strengthening of the integration of the science, technology and innovation system, the development of human resources, metrology, standardization and quality, in the investment processes, from the regulation of the organization and execution process of the metrological assurance programs.The paper shows the main results obtained by the INIMET in the generalization of the program for the training of competencies to Metrology specialists and managers in prioritized companies from different sectors of the economy, with an emphasis on energy sector
