The article starts from a brief tour of Cuban experiences that are committed to social transformation from educommunicative strategies supported by the conception and methodology of communication for social change and popular education. The theoretical, methodological and epistemological experience accumulated in the Escaramujo project in just over a decade, allows its author to conceptualize the term popular educommunication and suggest some methodological clues when conceiving and implementing similar experiences. In addition, it contributes to the development of other theoretical categories in the field such as educommunication projects and educommunication practices.
