The teaching-learning is centered on the student, with greater flexibility in their training at a time when the coronavirus (COVID-19) caused a crisis in education, supported by the New Information and Communication Technologies as a platform for training students more in an eminently rural province, where technology is a socioeconomic indicator. Research that analyzes at the Technical University of Manabí, the responsibility of the student in their academic achievements and how they correlate with their autonomous work. Descriptive and explanatory work, a survey of 15 items was applied in Google drive to 194 students of different careers, the Fisher test was used for the variables, for the consistency of the test, Cronbach's Alpha was applied, which gave 0.894. Autonomous management in students is not rooted in their academic training process, the student does not maintain a deep participation or is convinced of the role they play.
