Inflammatory fibroid polyps of the gastro-intestinal tract are rare lesions. The case of a 86-year-old woman with preoperative diagnosis of intestinal occlusion due to bridle that underwent emergency surgery at the "Joaquín Albarrán" Clinical and Surgical Teaching Hospital of Havana City is reported. An invaginated tumor in the ileum, 20 cm from the ileocaecal valve, was detected by explorative laparotomy. The anatomopathological diagnosis was inflammatory fibroid polyp. The clinical and pathological aspects of this case were documented
