A kit of reagents for the diagnosis of Trichomonas vaginalis is developed starting from latex particles sensitized with immunoglobulins against T. vaginalis, a positive and a negative control. This kit is used in the diagnosis of the protozoo by means of rapid agglutination and no specific equipment is necessary. The results show a sensitivity of 98.7 % and a specificity of 99 % for a limit of detection of 104 cells/mL. The latex sensitivity study was conducted for the negative and positive controls during a year. The results were satisfactory.
