The research is based on the assessment of the particularities that characterize the Cuban context with the objective of identifying potentialities and limitations for the articulation of productive chains in the tourism hotel system; based on the achievement of improvements in the processes of hotel services in correspondence with the quality standards established for this sector. The study proposes the evaluation of methodologies referring to productive chains to recognize steps and tools applicable to this type of analysis; that allow the design of an instrument for its articulation. The information base was obtained from data provided by the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Tourism and the National Office of Statistics and Information in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
