This work was carried out at the EEPF ¨Cascajal¨, on an Alitic soil, with the objective of determining the botanical composition of accessions of the Brachiaria genus, after completing the stage of agronomic evaluation. Two collections were studied, one of B. brizantha with 36 accessions and the other made up by 30 accessions of Brachiaria spp.; the species and quantity of accessions were: B. decumbens (14), B. dictyoneura (8), B. ruziziensis (3), B. humidicola (3), B. purpurascens (1) and B. arrecta (1). The method of the square meter divided into decimeters was used and the observation was carried out at the end of the evaluation period. The collections of B. brizantha and Brachiaria spp. were concluded to show good covering of the plots, which represented 85,9 and 80,0%, respectively, of the total of the evaluated accessions.
