An observational descriptive study was performed to determine procedures and diagnostic means applied to the detection of ectopic pregnancy at Ana Josefa Betancourt de Mora gineco-obstretic hospital , Camagüey in the period from January 1st , 1998 to june 30 th, 1999. Out of 651 patients who were admitted presumptively with this diagnostic , 214 were confirmed by anatomic pathologic study and for processing information descriptive statistic methods, frequency distribution and percentage were used. The majority of women were aged among 26 and 35, pelvis inflammatory disease and induced abortions were the gynecologic antecedents more common in 29,44 and 13,8 % respectively, the association of pelvic and menstrual delay together with painful abdominal and vaginal exams with anexial tumor were stressed. In the echo ectopic performed, 99,08 % showed images suggesting ectopic piegnancy, culdocentisis was positive in 85,16 % and laparoscopy reached 100 % o positivity. It was shown relation among the higher time elapsed for the (diagnosis after seven days) and the accidented way of ectopic pregnancy.
