Measurement of relative humidity is very important in several spheres of life, such as agriculture, industry, meteorology and human comfort. This work deals with the design of a relative humidity transmitter with high accuracy and low power consumption based on the psychrometric method. The main characteristics and the function of each part of the transmitter are exposed. It has a DSSP (Digital Sensor Signal Processor) to make all the necessary compensations and to obtain the variables data by a communication interface with a computer. The firmware implemented in the DSSP allows that, in real-time; the relative humidity is calculated using the psychrometric method. In practical experiments, were obtained relative errors with regard to span of 0,8 % in temperature and 0,6% in relative humidity.
