Introduction:

Computerisation in health streamlines work and has an impact on the quality and excellence of services.

Objective:

To describe the main contributions of health informatisation in Niquero during the period from 2019 to 2021.

Methods:

A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational study was carried out. Theoretical and empirical methods were used. The information was obtained from the review of various research studies in the field of computerisation carried out in the municipality, in addition to the operational exploration of each product.

Results:

The ASIS-EXCEL template consisted of a computer-based tool that proved to be effective in the preparation of the health situation analysis. A medical diagnostic support system was developed for COVID-19 coping by modelling the causal relationships of the diagnostic criteria; a fuzzy cognitive map was formed. The PROTO-PAMI was designed to assist in decision making related to the protocols of the "Mother and Child Programme" and the BASE-PAMI product, software that allowed the appropriate control and follow-up of each patient.

Conclusions:

Health informatics helps decision making and patient improvement. Among its main contributions during the study period, the application of tools such as ASIS-EXCELL, which allows the analysis of the health situation, the fuzzy cognitive map to support the diagnosis of COVID-19, PROTO-PAMI, APK for decision-making related to the protocols of the Mother and Child Programme and the practical tool BASE-PAMI stand out.
