CRUZ DIAZ, Maykel; HERRERA SUAREZ, Miguel; TABOADA CRISPI, Alberto  e  GARCIA PEDRAZA, Laura. Determination of soil profile geometry through the image processing method. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.4, pp. 31-35. ISSN 2071-0054.

This research is based in the determination of the geometry of the soil profile using the image processing method. It was necessary to carry out a search in the literature on the topic under study that allowed deepening on the subject in order to determine methodologies to be used for the collection of the data. The final results gave us the possibility to construct a traditional rod profilometer, which allowed carrying out the measurements of the geometry of the soil profile in the cane fields and to compare it with the method of image processing to show that can be obtained the soil profile geometry using the method proposed in this paper. It was possible to develop a method of image processing to determine the geometry of the soil profile without the need of costly laser methods developed by other authors that make it very difficult in our country. Finally, the results show the technical feasibility of using this method and its effectiveness.
