ORDONEZ PLACENCIA, Christy Geovanna; MONTALVO ZAMORA, Natalia Alexandra  e  NARVAEZ ZURITA, Cecilia Ivonne. Ergonomic exploration and evaluation of the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in health personnel: case of the Pablo Jaramillo foundation. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2024, vol.16, n.2, pp. 121-134.  Epub 30-Abr-2024. ISSN 2218-3620.

Occupational diseases are chronic conditions, directly caused by the exercise of the profession or occupation performed by the worker and as a result of exposure to risk factors. The objective of the research is to evaluate the ergonomic conditions and the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in the health personnel of the Pablo Jaramillo Foundation. To achieve this objective, analytical-synthetic methods were used to analyze the specialized literature, historical-logical methods to understand the evolution of ergonomic conditions in health personnel, and the inductive-deductive approach to examine the data in detail and decompose the variables before reintegrating them. The results revealed that the largest group in the evaluation was between 30 and 39 years old, with a female predominance. Musculoskeletal complaints were identified, with the most frequent being in the neck and shoulders. A total of 71.429% reported discomfort in the neck and 52.381% in the shoulder. The need for prevention strategies and awareness of healthy working conditions was highlighted.
