We evaluated the morphometric characteristics of common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) grown in the municipality of Hopelchén, Campeche (Mexico). The morphometric parameters evaluated were: length, width, thickness, weight and volume. We also evaluated the physical parameters: swelling and hydration index, as well as the percentage composition of the seed. The morphometric characteristics of Hopelchén beans indicate that the harvested grain is of good quality and corresponds to the values expected for this food.
