The case of a 24-year-old white female patient with history of chronic tubulo-interstitial nephritis that arrived at degree IV chronic kidney failure is presented. She underwent dialysis for 2 years and received a kidney transplant from a live donor and, 3 years later, with a certain deterioration of the renal function, she was diagnosed a 20-week pregnancy with a severe multifactorial anemia. She was treated with human recombinant erythropoietin made in Cuba at doses of 50 U/kg twice a week until a month after delivery. A satisfactory evolution of pregnancy and the function of the kidney transplant with no secondary effects either in the mother or in the newborn infant were attained
