This paper explores the boundaries of Cuban economic growth from its interaction with the foreign sector. Through quantitative techniques, it is confirmed the need to operate on the structural components that explain the foreign trade deficit, mainly the competitive good export components. The design of actions that would be required to achieve an encouraging environment to sector competitive is argued empirically.
