ODRIOZOLA GUITART, Silvia; ROMERO CASTELLANOS, Karla L. e FORNES VALENCIANO, Raúl. Community Sports Management: a Proposal for Cuba from the Vision of Social Entrepreneurship. Econ. y Desarrollo [online]. 2023, vol.167, suppl.1 Epub 02-Out-2023. ISSN 0252-8584.
In the contemporary world, sport has become an activity of increasing importance, with visible impacts on the economic and social life of human beings. Around its practice, dissimilar models of sports organization and management have been developed, in which public actors, private business and social institutions are interrelated. The latter have been gaining prominence, especially at the community level, with the purpose of promoting inclusive sports practice. In Cuba, although the achievements made during the revolutionary period position the country as a benchmark at the regional and world level, in recent years there has been a decline in such results, due, among other causes, to the deterioration of its care at the level community, from whose base emerge talents, potential champions. For this reason, the need to advance in the improvement of sports management at the community level is imposed, the main inspiration of this research, for which the creation of a non-profit institution is proposed.
