Time organization constitutes a useful skill for personal development. The article analyzes the characteristics of this skill in first year students of the Psychology major of the University of Holguin in the modality of Encounter Courses. From the theoretical-methodological referents of the historical-cultural approach, the temporal organization is assumed as a general ability that shapes personal development. The paradigm that guides the research is qualitative and the methodological strategy was based on the study of multiple cases. The following techniques were used to collect information: the pie, the autobiography and the semi-structured interview. The main results indicate that in the preceding teaching levels, the learners did not participate in trainings that would contribute to an adequate formation and development of temporal organization. This led to an incomplete and stereotyped mastery of the skill that compromises their professional training.
