Breast cancer is the most common neoplasm in the female sex and one of the leading causes of death in this group. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted of women who died of breast cancer in the period 2017 to 2018, with the aim of describing the mortality of this disease, taking into account the area of residence, average age of the deceased and years of life potentially lost according to Popular Councils. The statistical measures used were, mortality rate, absolute values, average values, absolute numbers and years of lives potentially lost, with an increase in the mortality rate, with a predominance in the urban area, the average age of the deceased is above 50 years and it is the People's Councils of St. John-The Christ who contributed, the highest rate of potentially lost life years.
