Within the last decades, there has been a constant increase of the elderly. The changing results of aging give us a different approach about these adults care, which require the priority of the autonomy and functional independence, to determine the behavior of dependence in elderly. A descriptive and transversal design study was performed at “Lidia Doce Sánchez” home daycare, Granma province, from May - July 2020. The variables measured were: age, sex, past medical history and dependence degree. It was used from the statistic: percentage, mean and Gamma Coefficient. The male sex prevail (72. 7 %) and the average age 76. 5 ± 9, 9 years. The main personal history was Hypertension (65. 9 %). 68. 2 % showed dependence to the daily life activities; 28.8 % light problems and 23.5 % moderate problems. The institutionalize elderly at “Lidia Doce” home daycare, belong to male sex, between 70-89 years be unable to daily life activities. The dependence degree has increased with the ages.
