Introduction:
epilepsy is the most frequent neurological disorder in children.
Objective:

Methods:
an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out. Universe: 98 patients. Sample: 89 children according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Results:
the predominant age group was one-six years 34,93 %, followed by seven -12 years 28,93 %, with a higher frequency in the male sex 57,83 %. A family history of pathology was found in 33,73 % of the infants. Prenatal pathological antecedents, maternal arterial hypertension was present in 26,50 %, followed by gestational diabetes 19,27 %. Asphyxia predominated as a perinatal condition in 19,27 %. In relation to complementary studies, electroencephalogram was positive in 86,74 %, computerized axial tomography of the skull in 31,32 % and magnetic resonance imaging in 21,68 %. Idiopathic epilepsy was evident in 48,19 % of patients and secondary epilepsy in 51,80 %. Generalized motor-onset seizures prevailed, including tonic seizures in 20,48 % of patients. In relation to focal onset seizures, tonic seizures predominated.
Conclusions:
