Professional values are defined as human values contextualized and oriented to the profession, join in their meanings the relationship between social requirements and of the profession, are the professional identity as guide behavior in the workplace. The inclusion of values in the training has taken up within higher education, and along with knowledge and skills, make up the so-called comprehensive training. The objective of this research was to appreciate the professional values in students of degree in nursing from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Material and methods: under a quantitative approach, a transversal, descriptive and exploratory study was conducted, through a survey based on the values proposed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and from Likér scales, measured professional values directed toward patients, the patients family and medical equipment. Results: Obtained the following system of values; dignity human, equality, truth, freedom, justice, altruism and aesthetics, noting that most values were considered indispensable towards the patient, showing smaller percentages to the family of the patient and medical equipment in the values of beauty, altruism and freedom.
