The objective of this article is to demonstrate how the Environmental Education inserted in the National Program for the Integration of Professional Education with Basic Education in the Youth and Adult Education modality, Proeja, offered by the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul - IFMS, correlates with the pillars of sustainability (social, economic and environmental), integrating general training and professional education. Methodologically, an exploratory and descriptive approach was carried out with the surveys of the curricular matrices and their respective educational plans, being these of secondary source, purely qualitative. It was concluded that the IFMS Proeja is directed towards a modality that effectively helps in the search for sustainability, with a view to social, professional and economic inclusion. Within this context, Environmental Education analyzed in this article is defined by the perspective focused, in fact, on the composition and work of citizenship.
