The study presented in this article arouses great interest in Cuban Higher Education, due to the importance of the selected theme for the professional training of young people and for the strengthening, in them, of feelings of love for the country and its history. The objective of the described results is to present a proposal of didactic actions to inspire students to learn about the History of Cuba in the Mining Engineering major of the University of Moa. The authors reveal the epistemological essence of educational motivation and its effect on the development of learning. Likewise, they expose the most significant experiences on the improvement achieved in the teaching of the History of Cuba to inspire students to learn historical contents, from a professional and humanistic perspective. Materials and methods used adapt to the demands of the research process, which was oriented towards the fulfillment of the declared objective.
