The work that is presented is product of a research project carried out at the University of Holguin, Cuba: Study of the initial preparation for the learning of Physics and Chemistry of students who enter the careers of Engineering in Agronomy and Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Physics Education, whose objective is to diagnose the volitional qualities, necessary for the realization of the experimental activity, of the students to said careers. An alternative is provided for the elaboration of an instrument and methodological suggestions that facilitate the diagnosis of said traits, in whose results the level of development of the qualities independence, decision and perseverance, this allows the teacher to influence those that have been formed with a certain degree of limitation, so that the student manages to carry out the experimental activity on the basis of self-reflection from their qwn points of view. For the elaboration of said instrument a work methodology was applied that implicates the definition and identification of those variables to be measured and the determination of items and indicators of each of these variables.
